The Superstition Wilderness has a way of mesmerizing you with its mystery and its beauty.

These mountains sit just east of Phoenix, close enough that you can see them from the edge of the city, and yet they may as well be another world. The range covers around 160,000 acres of rugged, broken country, all sharp ridgelines and box canyons and that strange volcanic rock that glows at the right time of day. The most famous landmark, Weaver’s Needle, stands up out of the middle of it like a marker pointing at something. People have been trying to figure out what for a very long time.
